不像, 其他 big music industry conference that happens every spring – you know, the one where a hip Southern town gets taken over by br和s 和 b和s – the vibe at the fourth annual 音乐 Biz conference in Nashville wasn't about nonstop parties 和 endless lines to sponsored showcases. Instead, this industry gathering – put on by the 音乐商业协会 (formerly known as the National Association of 记录 Merch和isers, or NARM) – is firmly focused on bringing industry professionals together to network, 分享想法, 和 educate the next generation of music business executives. 小组讨论的天数, 突破研讨会, 和 themed "town hall" seminars provided a treasure trove of information 和 inspiration, 和 满帆大学 was there in full force.

One of the highlights of the conference's schedule was a morning-long town hall seminar series focused on music business education, conceived by 娱乐业务/音乐行业 Program Director 杰基Otero 由 伊丽莎白·内夫, Course Director - 音乐行业 Marketing, 音乐行业 Bachelor’s Program. The town hall featured sessions on student-run record labels, various university business program projects, 和 one session – featuring Neff along with 安德鲁Kautz (COO, Big Machine Label Group)和满帆毕业生 克里斯Martignago (Director of A&R Re搜索, Atlantic Records) 和 杰森·罗斯 (owner, TSM Studios) – discussing the best ways for music industry professionals to connect with higher education programs.

In the crowd for this session – 和 many 其他s throughout the conference – was a contingent of 满帆 students 和 grads, some of whom were online students who traveled in from Kentucky 和 其他 nearby states to take part in the networking opportunities with industry professionals 和 their classmates. Not only did the students get to take part in events in 和 around the conference, grad 克里斯Martignago invited the whole group to his office at 纳什维尔华纳音乐公司.

More than a dozen 满帆ors showed up 和 were treated to a tour of the 音乐 Row facilities, but also got a chance to sit down for a casual 和 extended Q&A session with Martignago 和 Atlantic's Senior VP of A&R, 史蒂夫·罗伯逊. The group gathered in the comfortable listening room of Warner Chappell Publishing for more than an hour of c和id conversation about the current dynamics of the music industry 和 how the students can best prepare themselves for successful careers in it.
